Risk sources are defined by evidence, usually labels from sanctions lists, law enforcement actions, investigations, and research. Every exposure result depends on them: a stale or wrong risk-source label spreads the error to every address connected to it.

What is Risk source?
A risk source is an address or entity that is risky in its own right, such as a sanctioned party, darknet market, ransomware operator, scam network, or wallet holding stolen funds. Exposure is measured from risk sources: they carry direct risk through their labels, and other addresses gain indirect exposure by transacting with them or their intermediaries.
