What is Japan FSA?
The Japan FSA, or Financial Services Agency, regulates crypto-asset exchange service providers, which must register under the Payment Services Act before serving customers in Japan. Registered providers also carry AML obligations under the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds, including customer verification, suspicious transaction reporting, and the Travel Rule.
